As an area of special interest to the Republic of Croatia, the Kornati National Park enjoys its particular protection. In order to enhance the protection, the Ordinance on Order in the National Park was put into force.

ZONES OF STRICT PROTECTION
There are four zones of strict protection in the Kornati National Park, the areas around:

  • Purara islet, Klint and Volić reefs
  • Mrtenjak islet
  • Kolobučar islet
  • Small Obručan and Great Obručan islets

Visitors are not allowed in the zones of strict protection.

SAILING, ANCHORING AND DOCKING
Sailing is allowed in the whole of the Kornati National Park except in the zones of strict protection. Anchoring and overnighting is permitted in the following bays and coves: Stiniva, Statival, Lupeška, Tomasovac - Suha punta, Šipnate, Lučica, Kravljačica, Strižnja, Vruje, Gujak, Opat, Smokica, Ravni Žakan, Lavsa, Piškera - Vela Panitula, Anica on Levrnaka, Podbižanj, and Koromašna.

HIKING TRAILS
All land in the Kornati National Park is privately owned. The visitors are permitted hiking only on trails and paths specially marked for that purpose.

SWIMMING AND DIVING
Swimming is allowed in the whole of the Kornati National Park except in the zones of strict protection.
Autonomous diving is allowed only in organised groups, with a licence for autonomous diving in the Kornati National Park obtained in advance.

ACTIVITIES
Certain activities are allowed in the Park only with a permission issued by the Kornati National Park in advance.

CONSERVATION OF NATURE
It is prohibited to pick or damage plants as well as hunt, disturb, injure or kill animals in the Kornati National Park. Introduction of allochthonous species of plants and animals is prohibited. The exploitation of mineral resources or any other natural resources of the area as well as changing the landscape are prohibited. Engines and/or tools producing noise have to have a proper sound insulation. Any pollution of land, sea or air is prohibited. Lighting a fire and any use of fire is allowed only in settlements or in locations specially marked for that purpose. Firearms and spear guns are prohibited in the Kornati National Park. Stacking stone heaps is not allowed due to changed processes in microflora.
